About Us
Ryan and Marjorie got married here on their property in May of 2016. They have been breeding, buying and developing elite Registered Ayrshire and Milking Shorthorn dairy cattle for our whole lives and have been collaborating in this venture since roughly 2011. Having shown their cattle in West Springfield, Massachusetts at the Big E; Harrisburg, Pennsylvania at the All-American Dairy Show; Madison, Wisconsin at the World Dairy Expo; Louisville, Kentucky at the North American International Livestock Exposition; and Toronto, Canada at the Royal Agriculture Winter Fair and brought home many top honors, banners, prizes and memorabilia under their Ridale Genetics farm name and Prefix.
In late November of 2018 Ryan and Marjorie acquired South Acres Kennel and seven of their fine Labrador Retrievers from friends Paul and Terri Hewes. The dogs and business moved to their farms' property in Cummington while continuing to acquire guidance and knowledge from Paul and Terri. The Hewes have been breeding from these family lines for over 20 years.
With strong belief in the bloodlines we continue to strive for improvement in every litter. We personally train and hunt each one of our dogs. They are also a huge part of our family and are our constant companions. We are eager to continue working with this breed and bloodlines because of their willingness to please and overall intelligence.
